4 Days - Charme Hotels

DAY 1

The capital of Sicilian Baroque, welcome briefing, bike test.

Noto, the capital of Sicilian Baroque, is an open-air art gallery.

Its historic centre is full of churches, noble palaces, stately squares and beautiful streets, large and small, that wind harmoniously into one another.

Welcome meeting with your cycling guide at your hotel located in the historic centre.

After a briefing and setting up your bike, it is time for a first ride along the coastline of ancient Avola.

DAY 2

A loop bike tour along secondary roads and the mountainous area of Noto.

We begin with a gentle, scenic climb to 'San Corrado', then continue to the ruined site of Ancient Noto, which was razed to the ground by the earthquake of 1693.

Stop at the 'Cavagrande del Cassibile' reserve.

We continue to the "Cavagrande del Cassibile Nature Reserve". Here the landscape of the plateau is dominated by the 'Grand Canyon of Sicily',

one of the deepest in Europe, whose steep walls descend 500 metres to a picturesque river below.

From here you can stretch your legs on a fun descent through Avola Antica

and then towards Avola with breathtaking views of the Ionian coast and its seaside villages.

The final part heads towards Noto, passing through a quiet and lively rural district with some masserie and farmhouses along the way.

Once in the historic centre of Noto, we will visit the "Caffè Sicilia", renowned for its almond pastries, granitas and ice creams.

DAYS 3

From Portopalo di Capo Passero to Modica.

Our day continues along the wine routes of the Val di Noto, again touching on the Noto countryside before entering the province of Ragusa.

Once we reach the plateau, the view of the Iblei mountains will delight you.

On this stage we will get to know a variety of traditional peasant food production, from bread to scacce, from honey to cheese, oil and wine.

We will arrive at the gates of Ispica, for a short visit.

Leaving Ispica we will climb inland for a beautiful view of the extreme eastern spur of the Monti Iblei,

which marks the border between the provinces of Siracusa and Noto.

We will cycle towards Modica along old roads, typical carob trees, old farmhouses and the grid of dry stone walls,

with its continuous succession of ups and downs is quite demanding, but your effort will be rewarded by views of unparalleled beauty.

A scenic descent will reveal the beauty of Modica's monuments.

The day continues in the historic quarters of the city centre: alleys, steps and medieval lanes will lead you to the spectacular stairways of the most majestic churches.
